KABUL): The Bost Cricket Club from southern Helmand province defeated Band-i-Amir in the final of the Etisalat Challenge Cup that involved teams from all five zones, an official said on Monday.

Band-i-Amir elected to bat after winning the toss, setting a 170-run target off 37 overs for the loss of all wickets, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Nusratullah Wafa told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Mahmood top-scored with 56, followed by Hashmatullah with 49, and Babar with 39, he said. Amanullah and Navinul Haq shared three wickets apiece.

In response, the Bost Club achieved the target in the 35th over for the loss of four wickets, Wafa said. Sami Agha chipped in with 62 while Shaukat Zaman scored 52 runs.
