Airstrike kills 12 rebels in Kunar

ASADABAD (PANinfo-icon): A dozen insurgents, including foreigners, were killed during a NATOinfo-icon airstrike in the Wata Pur district of eastern Kunar province, the governor said on Sunday.

Syed Fazlullah Wahidi told Pajhwok Afghan News the dead included four Pakistanis, two Arabs and a regional Talibaninfo-icon commander, Nasar. They were targeted in the Sangar area, he said.

The governor also said that Pakistani forces had fired 55 rockets into the Dangam district in the latest incursion.

Residents suffered no casualties in the cross-border attack, but their property was damaged, Wahidi said.
