10 ANA soldiers killed in Helmand attack

LASHKARGAH (PAN attack in the Washir district of southern Helmand province, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place in Grazan area on Sunday night. Another four ANA troops were injured and five more were missing, the governor’s spokesman, Daud Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Police reached the scene soon after the incident, but they had no idea how the attack happened, he said, adding the attackers seized weapons and ammunitions from the post.

The 215th Maiwand Military Corps spokesman Gen. Ghulam Farooq Parwani confirmed the incident, but he had no details.

A Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi claimed responsibility for the attacks, saying 16 ANA soldiers were killed and 16 US-made weapons and six Kalashnikovs seized.
