Vehicles washed away, families stranded by floods

CHARIKAR for the second consecutive day on Friday, local officials said.

In Kapisa province, 13 vehicles were washed away in the Ghaus valley of Nijrab district, the governor’s spokesman, Qais Qadiri, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Eight shops and crops on 200 hectares of land were damaged.

In Panjsher, another central province, three small dynamos as many water dams and 2,300 trees were destroyed in the Malima area of Hesa-i-Do district, said Mohammad Hanif Khurram, a Red Crescent representative.

Another official, Mohammad Tahir, said 1,000 families lost access to the district centre after floods hit the Abdullah Khel area. Crops and two small power dynamos were damaged.
