KABUL (PAN): Four people were killed and three others wounded in a suicide blast near the Italian embassy in the Shash Darak locality of Kabul on Saturday, an official said. Offices of Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA), Afghan Films, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) are located in the area. Deputy Commander of 101st Asmayee Police Zone Col. Mohammad Daud Amini confirmed four people were killed and three others wounded in the suicide attack that occurred at 11:40am. Two of the dead were yet to be identified, Amini said, adding that an investigation team had been sent to the site. Further details were not immediately available. Witnesses said five road vendors, mostly children, also suffered injuries in the explosion that was also verified by the US military. In response to an email from Pajhwok, Maj. Adam N. Wojack said: “We are aware of a blast reported just outside of ISAF headquarters in Kabul. The HQ is secure and there are no reported damage or casualties. “ISAF is standing by to assist Afghan officials to provide support, if requested. At this time, it would be premature to speculate on which type of munitions or delivery system created the blast,” he added. PAJHWOK/Ataullah Khpelwak
