KABUL Contact Group, aiming to coordinate international efforts for stabilising the war-torn country, will meet in Turkey on Friday.
German Ambassador Michael Koch, special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and US Special Envoy Marc Grossman and diplomats from other countries will attend the meeting.
A statement from the foreign ministry in Ankara said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu would make opening remarks at the gathering of the 55-member group.
The group’s most recent meeting was held in Helsinki.
On Thursday, diplomats are to gather in Ankara as part of the Istanbul Process, an initiative launched in November 2011 to develop cooperation and political dialogue in Afghanistan.
