Saudi King condemns Faryab suicide attack

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The King of Saudi Arabia Malik Abdullah on Friday condemned the deadly suicide attack at a mosqueinfo-icon in northern Faryab province, where about 40 people lost their lives.

In a telephone conversation with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the ruler said he was deeply saddened by the event and assured continued support for Afghanistaninfo-icon, especially in the peace process.

Dozens of people, mostly security men and civilians, were killed when a man wearing an explosive vest blew up himself outside a mosque, as worshippers where congregating for the Eidul Adha prayers at about 9:30 am.

Karzai had called on Abdullah on Friday evening to greet him on the occasion of the Eid celebration.

He also thanked Saudi Arabia for their relentless support to Afghanistan.
