7 insurgents killed, 3 held in Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR (PANinfo-icon): Seven militants were killed during a military operation in several districts of central Maidan Wardak province, an official told on Saturday.

An International Security Agency Forces (ISAFinfo-icon) airstrike killed seven fighters in Jaghatu district, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.  The insurgents were Ghazni residents.

In a separate offensive, ISAF and Afghan forces killed a militant in Syedabad district on late Friday, he added. A large quantity of ammunitions was seized. The security personnel remained unharmed.

Similarly, three rebels were captured alive in Nirkh district. The detainees were identified as Ismatullah, Abdul Wahid and Mullahinfo-icon Abdul Salam -- all loyal to militant commander Allah Noor.
