House gutted by ISAF-fired flare cartridge

KHOST CITY (PAN-led troops fell on a home in southeastern Khost province, causing financial losses, the house owner said on Thursday.

Rehmat Badshah told Pajhwok Afghan News his house in the Matoon area on the outskirt of the provincial capital was gutted. Local police put off the fire, he said.

A police official confirmed the incident in Patarai village, but did not say what ignited the blaze.

But resident Gul Habib said the house owner was a poor man. If not compensated, he would face financial hardships, the resident added.
