Rabbani to meet Clinton on Thursday

WASHINGTON (PANinfo-icon): The Afghan High Peace Councilinfo-icon Chairman Salahuddin Rabbani met the outgoing US special envoy for Afghanistaninfo-icon and Pakistaninfo-icon Marc Grossman on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing peace process.

On Thursday, Rabbani will “meet briefly” the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her deputy Thomas R Nides.

“The United States continues to agree with Afghan leaders that a peace process is critical to our shared goal of a more stable and secure Afghanistan,” Grossman said in a statement after meeting Rabbani.

Welcoming Rabbani to the State Department, Grossman lauded his relentless dedication to move the much-needed peace initiative. 

They also discussed efforts to advance an Afghan-led peace process.
