ISLAMABAD (PAN.

“The 10-member Afghan delegation led by Rassoul has reached Islamabad today,” Zardash Shams, a spokesman at the Afghanistan embassy in Islamabad told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Rassoul is scheduled to meet his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar on Friday afternoon and later hold talks with Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf.

According to some sources, during his talks, Rassoul may ask Pakistani officials to release more Taliban prisoners.

He said Rassoul was expected to touch on an array of topics with Pakistani officials – mainly on bilateral ties, politics, economics and the status of Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan.

According to Shams, the Afghan delegation would also discuss about the conference of religious scholars that was suggested by both countries two weeks ago.
