ISLAMABAD (PAN conference in January next year.

Ashraf told the visiting Afghan delegation, led by Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rassoul, which is in Islamabad to hold bilateral talks.

The prime minister expressed his government’s support to ensure the international conference is successfully organised in Kabul and hoped the event would bolster ties between both nations.

At the meeting Ashraf also highlighted the importance of a peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan, which was also in the interest of Pakistan.

The recent visit of Afghan High Peace Council to Islamabad was successful and had positive results, said Ashraf, adding both countries faced common threats — terrorism and drug trafficking — and these challenges have to be addressed by both governments.

Meanwhile, Rassoul said any disputes between the two countries should be resolved through dialogues after this visit to Pakistan.
