ISAF ready to maintain peace in Khost

KHOST CITY (PAN, an ISAF commander said on Tuesday.  

Khost governor spokesman Baryalay Rawan told Pajhwok Afghan News that ISAF peace council head Maj.Gen. Smyth-Osbourne with number of peace council members visited southeastern Khost province.

Osbourne met with Khost governor and ensured him that for a long lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, ISAF had launched necessary programmes at local, national and international level.

He said the Afghan National Army should create capabilities to defend their country and also expressed satisfaction over promoting good governance, reconstruction, maintaining security and secured borders in Khost.

Khost governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi asked for ISAF support to develop and equipped the civil and judiciary departments.

Naeemi said unemployment, non implementation of infrastructure projects and limited financial aid were the reasons delaying the peace process.

The delegation assured that every kind of support would be provided to develop infrastructure to ensure peace prevailed.
