JALALABAD (PAN): The national cricket team will face the under-19 crew during a three-day tournament all set to begin Wednesday in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.
In an exclusive chat with Pajhwok Afghan News, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chairman Shahzada Massoud said the 50-over friendly matches would help the juniors avail a chance to learn from their seniors. He rejected as rumors that the participating boys had been picked on approach.
The January 2-6 event is aimed at hunting talent among the juniors who could make it to the national side, ACB spokesman Farid Hotaki said.
