CHAGHCHARAN (PANinfo-icon): Five members of a family were injured when unknown attackers lobbed a hand grenade into the house of a police officer in western Ghorinfo-icon province, an official said on Wednesday.

The assailants dropped the bomb into the house's furnace exhaust pipe and as a result five family members of Col. Akhtar Mohammad Ghalmini, the 2nd police district chief in Chakhcharan, the provincial capital, were wounded, said Brig.Gen. Syed Hussain Safawi, the deputy police chief.

Ghalmini, also injured in the attack, told Pajhwok Afghan News his wife, a five-month-old baby, a six-year-old son, a three-year-old grandson, and a guest were among the injured. He blamed the attack on the Talibaninfo-icon.
