Project for new district demanded

TIRINKOT (PANinfo-icon): Residents of the newly-created Surab district of central Uruzgan province have demanded reconstructioninfo-icon projects in their town, official said on Monday.

Residents conveyed their demand to Governor Amir Mohammad Akhundzada and Senators Amanullah Azimi and Heela Achakzai during a visit to the district.

Abdullah Himmat, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News schools, roads and healthinfo-icon care centers were the main demands of the people.

At a meeting with the visiting officials, residents vowed support to the government and promised not to let anyone create insecurity in the area. Elders called for equipping the security forces, especially police.

Akhundzada thanked residents for supporting the government and said his administration had allocated funds for development projects in the district in 2013.
