JALALABAD (PANinfo-icon): The Nangarhar governor on Tuesday said a 1,000-bed hospital and an international-standard seminary would be built in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan residential town.

At the inaugural ceremony for the second phase of the township, Gul Agha Sherzai told Pajhwok Afghan News: "The seminary will match the standards of the Al-Azhar University in Egypt."

A 1,000-bed hospital would be also built close to the seminary in, he said.

The township contractor, Najib Zarab, also said they planned to build an international-standard university. "God willing, we will do more for our people’s prosperity in near future."

Urban Development Director Eng. Zakhil said billions of dollars had been spent so far on the township, a mega housing project in the province.
