KABUL): Eight people were sentenced to 18 years each in jail by the Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) on charges of drugs-trafficking on Wednesday, an official said.
The individuals were detained by counternarcotics police in Herat, Nangarhar and Helmand provinces in connection with drug smuggling, a CJTF spokesman, Ahmad Khalid Mowahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
More than 43 kilograms of heroin, 1,070 kg of opium, 100 kg of hashish and 166 kg of chemicals used in drugs were seized from them, he said.
