Huge quantity of explosives seized in Logar

 PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): As many as 343 sacks of explosives and 50 tins of chemicals were seized in central Logar province on Wednesday, an official said.

The seizure came in the Dashti Bari area of the provincial capital, Pul-i-Alam, in the afternoon, Brig. Gen. Abdul Saboor Nasrati, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said 250 sacks of ammonium nitrate, 93 bags of explosives, 50 tins — each weighing five kilograms — of chemicals and some cable were recovered.

The contraband — smuggled from Pakistan for disruptive operations, he claimed.
