Azerbaijan ready to assist Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Azerbaijan's deputy foreign minister on Sunday said in Kabul his country was ready to cooperate Afghanistaninfo-icon in sphere of energy, construction and asphalting of roads.

Araz Azimov addressed a joint press conference with his Afghan counterpart, Javed Lodin in Kabul, saying his country was ready to continue cooperation with Afghanistan in the critical and difficult situations.

According to Azimov, Azerbaijan tries to connect Afghanistan with Europe through transit route.

For his part, Lodin said Afghanistan is willing to have transit road to Europe through Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The deputy Afghan minister, Lodin and Afghan foreign minister, Zalmay Rasoul, would travel to Azerbaijan next week to strengthen political and economic ties with Azerbaijan, he said.
