LASHKARGAH (PAN): A newly-constructed building for a juvenile correctional centre was inaugurated in southern Helmand province said on Tuesday, an official.

Justice Minister Habibullah Ghalib, addressing the inaugural ceremony for the building, said he had directed local officials to ensure justice at all levels of the government to end disputes.

The centre was constructed at a cost of $917,000 provided by the British forces stationed in Helmand, said Ghalib, who also laid the foundation stone of another building at the justice department.

Governor Mohammad Naeem promised he would continue efforts at effective law enforcement in the province.

Five boys and 45 girls are currently living in the juvenile correction centre, according to Justice Director Mohammad Taib Atal, who said the second building was also being funded by UK troops.
