HERAT CITY (PANinfo-icon): Afghan National Army (ANA) troops on Monday delivered winter aid including food items and clothing to flood-affected families in western Herat province, an official said.

Nearly 150 families were distributed blankets, winter clothing, shoes and food in Nawabad area on the outskirts of Herat City, 207th Zafar military corps spokesman Najibullah Najibi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A wall along a canal was being urgently constructed in the area to protect nearby homes from being flooded, he added.
