HERAT CITY (PAN): The governor of western Herat province has not tendered resignation and has proposed administrative reforms, his spokesman said on Tuesday.
While talking to Pajhwok Afghan News, Mohiuddin Noori rejected media reports about Governor Dr. Daud Saba’s resignation. He neither denied nor confirmed the introduction of a new governor.
Some media outlets reported on Monday that Saba’s resignation had been accepted by President Hamid Karzai and former Kabul governor Haji Din Mohammad had been appointed as his successor.
Noori said Saba had recommended to the president a set of reforms, including ways of eradicating corruption. The governor’s recommendations might have been mistaken as his resignation, he added.
