KABUL): Scores of Afghan senators, currently on a week-long study visit to India at the invitation of New Delhi, will attend a training programme on parliamentary procedures and practices.
First Deputy Chairman Mohammad Alam Ezidyar is leading the 94-member Meshrano Jirga team that will stay in India till Sunday.
The workshop on parliamentary procedures and practices has been organised by the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST).
India’s External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid hosted a lunch in their honour, according to a media report that said the deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha and senior parliamentarians interacted with the visitors.
The delegation will visit both houses of parliament, places of cultural and historical importance, including the Red Fort and Taj Mahal, and pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
