Coalition forces kill 3 suspects in Kunar

KABUL, the US military said on Tuesday.

The insurgents were killed by coalition troops during operations in the Shigal district of Kunar province, the military said in a statement from the Bagram airbase.

Afghan police detained two suspected rebels in the Baraki Barak district. The detainees were transferred to a base for questioning. They cleared two improvised explosive devices in Baraki Barak district.

A suspected rebel was arrested by a combined force in the capital of southeastern Khost province, according to the statement, which said Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache in Zadran district.
