KABUL): Two vehicles worth $100,000 were on Tuesday delivered to the municipality department in central Maidan Wardak province, where three new projects, including a hospital, would be launched soon, an official said.

The two vehicles — a GCB loader and a dumper truck — had been provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the governor had thanked the USAID for the assistance that he hoped would help improve the department’s activities.

The gubernatorial spokesman also said a hospital in the Jaghatu district, a cold storage and an education institute had been approved for the province and would be launched soon.

Tribal elder from Jaghatu, Haji Qayamuddin, said there were three health clinics in the town of “40,000 people”. He said a new hospital would ease the burden on the existing facilities.
