KABUL): Farming co-operatives were handed out 28 tractors worth $840,000 in southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Thursday.
The Disbandment of Illegal Armed Group(DIAG) had paid $640,000 and the Ministry of Counternarcotics $18,400 to the joint venture, the governor’s spokesman Rohullah Samoon told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Governor Juma Khan Hamdard, who presented keys to farming co-operatives, urged them to continue not sowing poppy crops and focus their attention on wheat farming.
