2 civilians dead in ISAF firing in Kabul

KABUL): Foreign troops opened fire at a private truck, killing its two occupants in the Deh Sabz district of central Kabul province, an official said on Monday.

The incident occurred at 10:30am when the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) personnel fired shots at the vehicle of a private firm responsible for providing maintenance support to police, the Ministry of Interior spokesman, Gulam Siaddique Siddiqui, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Two employees of the company were killed on the spot, he said, but stopped short of going into details, pending to an ongoing investigation.

Elsewhere, six insurgents were killed on Monday during a clash with Afghan army troops in the Kajaki district of southern Helmand province, an official said.

A Taliban Ahmad was among the dead, the governor’s spokesman Mohammadullah Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Separately, a police pick-up vehicle hit a landmine Monday morning in the Shirmanda area of Kajaki district, killing a policeman onboard.
