SHABARGHAN/MAZA-I-SHARIF (PAN): A police officer was killed after being kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in northern Jawzjan province on Tuesday, an official said.

Mohammad Tahir was seized on Shiberghan-Khwaja Dokoh road at 4:30pm and shot dead an hour later, Sahira Shikib, district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Aziz Ghairat, provincial police chief, confirmed the killing. The victim’s body was found in Saltak Afghania area, he said.
Separately, an Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander, Mohammudullah, was summoned by the Charbulak district chief over the killing four people of a family and injuries to two others at the hands of unknown gunmen.
The family members were gunned down three days ago, when they were returning from Mazar-i-Sharif, said the district chief, Zabihullah, who held the commander responsible for road security.
