KABUL Astronomy Institute head predicted on Tuesday.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Dr. Muslim Jamal said the new solar year would be a period of prosperity for the entire Muslim world, especially for Afghanistan.
A large number of non-Muslims would embrace Islam during the year, which would witness a significant fall in the problems facing the followers of the religion of peace. He urged Afghans to pray for their country’s wellbeing.
But another noted expert, Eng. Abdullah Kandahari, disputed Muslim’s prediction as overoptimistic. He warned the new solar year would be full of security problems for the countrymen.
The upcoming president vote would throw up a weak government and the people would sorely miss the Karzai administration, Kandahari remarked. One lunar and three solar eclipses would occur during the year, he said.
He also forecast widespread rains and floods in August. The wet spell will last a week.
