ISAF loses a soldier to IED attack

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldier was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern Afghanistaninfo-icon on Friday, the alliance said.

The death was announced in a brief statement from the NATOinfo-icon-led force that neither gave the soldier’s nationality nor the exact location of the blast. However, mostly US troops are stationed in the east.

With the latest fatality, the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan so far during the current year has increased to 23. Last year, ISAF lost 402 service members in the country.
