JALALABAD (PAN): The Kabul-Jalalabad road was closed by a rockslide near the Daronta tunnel in eastern Laghman province on Saturday, the second incident of its kind in the area in a week.
The rockslide was induced by heavy rains at about 6pm, the Laghman governor’s spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Efforts were being made to clear the highway, he said.
On March 15, a portion of the mountain fell on the highway that connects eastern provinces with the central capital Kabul.
