GHAZNI CITY (PAN official said on Wednesday.

Of the 600 schools in the province, half lacked buildings and students had to be taught under tents or in the open, Director of Education Ehsanullah Nasher told Pajhwok Afghan News.

“It has been a big issue for us; we send students home when it is rains or the weather becomes hot,” he marked. The lack of an enabling environment took a toll on students’ future, he said.

He urged the government to address the problems on a priority basis to pave the way for education promotion in a province, where many schools in insecure areas have long been closed.

Mohammad Anwar, a student at Shahabuddin High School in Ander district, complained that their learning process had not been effective, although they braved weather vagaries.

“When it rains, we go home and our precious time is lost,” the student confirmed, urging the authorities to alleviate their plight.
