FAIZABAD (PAN airstrike in the Warduj district of northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Thursday.
The individuals were planting landmines in the Bomal area when they came under attack from the air, the town’s administrative chief, Dawlat Mohammad Khawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The airstrike came a day after seven insurgents and two policemen were killed during a gun-battle in the Bashan area.
Meanwhile, a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed six security personnel were killed and five others were wounded in a series of attacks on security posts. He confirmed the death of one fighter and injuries to another two during the latest clash.
