MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Three schoolteachers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Dawlatabad district of northern Balkh province, an official said.
The teachers came under attack on their way to school in the Hashimabad area of the district, the deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Razzaq Qadri, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Mohammad Farhad, a colleague of the victims, said they had recently been transferred to the Hashimabad High School that was facing a shortage of teachers.
