KABUL): Former Pakistani military dictator came under shoe attack during a court appearance in the port city of Karachi on Friday, private news channels reported.

As lawyers chanted slogans against him, one angry protester threw a shoe at the retired general, who managed to duck, DawnNews said. The Sindh High Court extended the ex-president’s bail.

On March 22, the court had granted protective bail to Musharraf in three high-profile cases, including the Benazir Bhutto assassination case, in which arrest warrants had been issued for him.

The court, however, restrained him from travelling abroad, according to Express News, which said quoted Musharraf as expressing satisfaction with court’s decision.

He returned to Karachi on March 24 from self-exile to contest the upcoming general elections under the banner of his party, the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).
