KANDAHAR CITY (PAN), set to wind up its operations in a week, would turn over its installation to the Kandahar Municipality, officials said on Tuesday.
A decision to the effect came at a meeting between Governor Toryalai Weesa and ISAF commander in the south, Gen. White, in Kandahar City.
The governor hailed handing over PRT facilities to the municipality as a positive move. However, he stressed the PRT should also give the municipality all relevant equipment.
He suggested the buildings should house a bakery and a laundry to create work opportunities for Kandahar’s women and help them win economic emancipation.
