KABUL): The visiting Turkish defence minister says his country has executed 164 development projects in the central province of Maidan Wardak.
Ankara would continue to fund uplift schemes in the strategic province, Ismet Yilmaz assured Governor Abdul Majid Khogyani at a meeting in Maidan Shahar.
The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News on Friday that Turkey had extended valuable assistance to Wardak in different areas.
He particularly acknowledged support from Turkey in building schools, clinics, cold storages, capacity building of government officials and police training.
Wardak residents were economically reliant on mines, agriculture and livestock farming, the governor said, lauding Turkey’s role in training Afghan police.
