TALOQAN (PAN): A newly-built school for girls opened in northern Takhar province, where a similar project was launched on Saturday, officials said.
Funded by GIZ German Organization, total cost on the two projects is estimated at $164,024 (9,000,000afs), said Gul Agha Nazari, the provincial education department spokesman.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the new building for the Bibi Ayasha High School in the Hazar Samch district cost 4.8 million afs. The structure has eight classrooms, a toilet and boundary wall and the capacity to accommodate more than 200 students.
The foundation stone for another girls school was laid in Acha area of the same district. The building is estimated to cost 4.5 million afs. It would have eight classrooms and other allied facilities for more than 300 students, the education official said.
