KABUL (PAN): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Tuesday announced the establishment of a Police Consultative Council (PCC), saying the 10-year scheme would help improve police credibility.
Made up of civil society members, media and human rights representatives, the council held its maiden session in Kabul, with meeting participants emphasising on improved liaison between police and people.
Interior Minister Ghulam Mujtaba Patang, who chaired the meeting, insisted on the importance of the council, said it was aimed at developing strong relationship between police and the communities they served.
