CHARIKAR): A young girl was killed and 11 members of her family were wounded when lightning struck their home in central Kapisa province, an official said.
The freak incident happened last night in the Kashkatan village of Hesa-i-Dom district, disaster management official Eng. Ahmad Javed told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said an 18-year-old girl was killed and 11 of her relatives, including two children, were wounded. The injured are under treatment at a district medical facility.
A local tribal elder, Sher Badshah, said the house caught fire as a result of the overnight lightning. Two nearby homes were also damaged, he added.
