KABUL): Finance Minister on Wednesday left for India at the head of a delegation to attend the 46th annual meetings of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Governors.

Ministry of Finance officials as well as prominent businessmen from the private sector are part of the team, which will attend the meetings, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from May 2 to May 5.

According to a statement from the ministry, the meetings bring together policymakers from ADB member countries to discuss development issues under the theme of “Development through Empowerment”.

On the sidelines of the meetings, the delegation will have talks with ADB leadership, including its newly-appointed president, officials from neighboring countries and Afghanistan’s main developing partners.

The team will meet the Indian finance minister, directors of the United Kingdom’s DFID and the World Bank, as well as delegates from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The meetings bring together around 4,400 participants, including over 60 finance ministers, Central Bank governors and other high-level representatives from member states and international organisations.
