ASADABAD (PAN): Pakistani troops have established a checkpoint 300 metres inside Afghan territory in the Narai district of eastern Kunar province, an official claimed on Saturday.
A three-member delegation, led by provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkheli, recently visited the district for investigations that confirmed the checkpoint’s construction on this side of the Durand Line.
The border post is located in Batash area, according to Kunar Governor Syed Fazlullah Wahidi, who told Pajhwok Afghan News: “It is an act of encroachment on Afghan territory.
“I have ordered security personnel to visit the area and expel Pakistani soldiers from our soil,” the governor said, days after a border clash in the Goshta district of neighbouring Nangarhar province.
