KABUL’s southwestern Balochistan province on Monday.

A private Pakistani TV channel, monitored here, reported the attacks in Barkhan and Ma stung districts of Balochistan, bordering Kandahar province, caused no life losses.

Paramilitary troops told the TV channel the schools were to serve as polling stations in the May 11 general election. The assailants planted explosives near the two girls’ primary schools and a primary health centre in Barkhan.

A government high school in the Isplanji area of Mastung came under similar attack. A rocket was also fired, at the school building.

As pre-poll violence continued, a bomb blast occurred near an election office of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Charsadda district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

At least, one man was injured in the explosion in Shabqadar sub-district that left the party office destroyed. Police cordoned off the area and started an investigation, DawnNews said.
