SHARAN (PAN): A police officer was stabbed to death and six militants were killed in separate explosions in the southeastern province of Paktika on Tuesday, officials.
Sra Rawza police station head, Sardar Mohammad Ukhwal, was stabbed by a man following a verbal clash in a hotel in the provincial capital, the Paktika police chief said.
Brig. Gen. Dawlat Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News they had launched an investigation into the murder of Ukhwal, who had also served as traffic police for a year.
Elsewhere in the province, four rebels including a commander were killed when the landmine they were making went off premature in the Najaf village of Tarwa district.
A statement from the governor’s office said two fighters were blown up by the roadside bomb they were planting in Wazakhwa district. Six guerrillas were wounded in the explosion.
