KABUL before signing a proposed bilateral security agreement between the allies, his office said on Saturday.

A statement issued from the Presidential Palace said Karzai briefed his Cabinet members on his Thursday’s telephonic conversation with Kerry.

Karzai told Kerry Afghanistan would not sign the security agreement until peace was not guaranteed by the US.

Karzai said their telephonic conversation remained focused on two main points— peace and Pakistan‘s role in this regard and the bilateral security pact.

On Pakistan’s role in peace process, Karzai said the country should translate its pledges into a concrete action and the US has to make further efforts in this regard.

Karzai made it clear on Kerry the Afghan nation would never agree to signing a security agreement with the US if the conflict and violence continued.

The US should accept all conditions the Afghan government has proposed for the agreement, including bringing to a close the current war, the statement said.
