KABUL): A Turkish businessman was rescued from his kidnappers in Kabul on Thursday after spending 11 days in captivity, an intelligence official said.
The Turkish named Sami had been kidnapped from the Thaimani neighbourhood 11 days ago. He was rescued at around 12am and was handed over to the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, a spokesman for the spy service, National Directorate of Security or NDS, Shafiqullah Tahiri, said.
No arrests could be made in connection with the abduction, he said, adding the kidnappers had been identified and a search was underway to nab them.
Without giving further details, Tahiri said the Turkish citizen had been kept in a house on the edge of Kabul city.
