Deputy Zabul governor survives bomb attack

QALAT (PAN): Deputy Governor Mohammad Jan Rassoulyar on Monday said he escaped unhurt in a roadside bombing that tore through their convoy in southern Zabul province.

He said their vehicular convoy came under attack in the Foladgi area of Shahr-i-Safa district in the morning on their way to Kandahar province.

He and his guards stayed unhurt in the blast that damaged two vehicles, he said, accusing the Taliban of planting the explosive.

Police have launched an investigation.
