The building, constructed in seven months, cost 17 million afghanis provided by US forces in the province, Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the building had a dining hall, a training centre and other facilities. It would play an important role in reforming juvenile detainees, he hoped.

A dozen juvenile prisoners were previously kept in a rented house, but with the construction of the building, they would have access to better living and educationinfo-icon conditions, said Director of Justice Department Qanun Gul.
