KABUL): A group attack on the Kabul International Airport resulted in the delay of 11 domestic and foreign flights, an official said on Monday.
Triggered by a brazen assault on the Kabul International Airport early Monday morning at 4:30am, clashes between insurgents and security forces ended with the killing of all seven attackers.
During six-hour clash, two flights from Dubai to Kabul, two from Istanbul and Herat to the capital and five from Kabul to Dubai, Mazar-i-Sharif, Kandahar and Herat were delayed.
The chief of Kabul airport, Mohammad Yaqub Rassouli, told Pajhwok Afghan News the flights took place at 10:30am when the runway was cleared.
